First Things First
Next Tuesday, June 30, 2-time NFL MVP and Super Bowl winning quarterback Kurt Warner, and his wife Brenda, release their new book First Things First: The Rules of Being a Warner (http://tinyurl.com/warnerbook). Warner's success on the field is not what is exceptional about him. It is his dedication off the field to his family, charitable causes and his faith that are the exception. Through his First Things First Foundation (www.kurtwarner.org), Warner's family has changed the lives of thousands of people, and recently he also filmed several public service announcements to promote the community service work of Civitan International (www.civitan.org/kurtwarner). At a time when professional sports athletes are more likely to be know for steroid use and criminal behavior, it is amazing that Warner - who wasn't recruited out of college, and is one of the oldest players on the field - led his "cinderella" Arizona Cardinals to the Super Bowl last year using integrity and hard work. I encourage you to look at your priorities, your family, and the needs of others in your community, and consider what is "first" in your life.
